HTC Desire HD

The HTC Desire HD (with codename HTC Ace) is the big-screened successor to the HTC Desire, It showcases outstanding multimedia content with its bright 4.3 inches LCD display and Dolby Mobile and SRS virtual sound and is the first to be powered by the new 1 GHz Scorpion, Qualcomm 8255 Snapdragon processor that uses a low-power 45-nm process technology for higher integration and efficiency and connectivity with 3G HSDPA support . It has all the features you need to be able to enjoy your media and stay in touch with your friends, family and business contacts.

Operating System

Powered by the Android 2.2 (Froyo) operating system upgradable to v. 2.3 and enhanced with the HTC Sense interface. HTC Sense is a graphical user interface developed by HTC Corporation for mobile devices running Android, Brew and Windows Mobile. The HTC Desire HD enables you to keep in contact with all your business contacts and friends on one device. The Android operating system can be customized to your own individual requirements.

Data Connection

This Smartphone supports 3G Network HSDPA giving maximum download speeds of up to 14 Mbps (carrier dependent). This  Desire HD also supports Wireless LAN networks with WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, and wifi hotspot, plus all the usual device connectivity features such as Bluetooth 2.1 A2DP and micro USB v 2.0. It brings a vibrant and responsive web browsing experience to mobile users.

Display

The screen is a 4.3-inch 800 x 480 pixel resolution display giving you a pixel density of 216ppi, with LCD capacitive touchscreen 16 M colors. It is bright and vibrant, but can’t replicate the fine detail you’d get from the iPhone 4’s higher resolution display and it doesn’t have the punch of the AMOLED of the Samsung Galaxy S. That’s not to downplay the skills of the Desire HD’s display – it is still a glorious screen on which to live out your mobile life and consume all your content.

Dimension and weight

The construction is an elegant aluminium unibody design which is both light and strong at the same time. This Desire HD has dimensions 123 x 68 x 11.8 mm, it weighs in at 164 g.

Storage and Memory

There is no need to worry about storing your media as the HTC Desire HD has 768 MB RAM and 1.5 GB of internal flash memory data storage. There is also a single microSDHC slot, which can accept a microSDHC card with a capacity of up to 32 GB of data storage. It provides plenty of space to store your favorite photos, videos or music.

Camera

On the back panel is an 8 megapixel camera with autofocus and dual LED flash, capable of taking 720p HD video.

Talk and standby times

The HTC Desire HD boasts talk time up to 320 mins and standby up to 490 hours for 3G connectivity.

Other Features

The Desire HD has FM radios, GPS (with A-GPS Support), proximity sensor, compass, accelerometer and ambient light sensor. The Desire HD also boasts the Dolby Mobile audio enhancement tech and DLNA compliance, plus the Desire HD can act as a Wi-Fi hotspot.
